PRE ENGINEERED BUILDINGS

Pre-engineered steel buildings (PEB) are a steel structures built over a structural concept of primary members, secondary members, roof and wall sheeting connected to each other and various other building components. These buildings can be provided with different structural and non-structural additions such as skylights, wall lights, turbo vents, ridge ventilators, louvers, roof monitors, doors & windows, trusses, mezzanine floors, fascias, canopies, crane systems, insulation etc., based on the customer’s requirements. All the steel buildings are custom designed to be lighter in weight and high in strength. Thus steel building designs have become more flexible, durable and adaptable over the last four decades which has made steel one of the preferred materials for building construction.

Pre-engineered steel buildings consists of following components :-

Primary Members Main Frames

Primary members are the main load carrying and support members of a pre-engineered building. The main frame members include columns, rafters and other supporting members. The shape and size of these members vary based on the application and requirements.

Secondary Members / Cold Formed Members

Secondary structural framing refers to purlins, girts, eave struts, wind bracing, flange bracing, base angles, clips and other miscellaneous structural parts.Purlins, girts and eave struts are cold formed steel members.


Roof Wall Panels

Standard steel panels are 0.5 mm or 0.6 mm thick and have a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa. Steel panels are hot dipped and galvanized with zinc or zinc-aluminium coating.Roof & Cladding sheets are available in three variants, viz, Bare Galvalume (0.47 mm TCT), color Coated Galvalume and Pre Painted Galvanised, 0.5 mm TCT. color coated galvalume or Alu-Zinc Alloy sheets for Roof and Side cladding shall be formed from high tensile, structural grade steel having minimum yield strength of 345 Mpa / 550 Mpa. The substrate or base metal thickness shall be of an alloy of 55% aluminium + 43.5% zinc + 1.5% Silicone, coated to thickness of 150 gsm (AZ 150) as per ASTM 792 OR AS 1397 with Top coat of 20 microns (DFT) over 5 micron (DFT) epoxy primer and the back coat with 5 micron (DFT) of epoxy primer, (0.50 mm TCT).


Accessories

In addition to the main building components, Frontline provides a wide range of building accessories.

Fastners :- Fasteners are of self-drilling screws No. 14, made of steel wire and EPDM bonded washers. The fasteners are either plain carbon or stainless steel type

Wind driven Ventilators :- A range of ventilators are available from 12” dia to 30” dia complete with fixing accessories are supplied.

Cladding :- Screws shall be fixed on valley of the sheets, screws shall be 14 TPI, 25 mm long with EPDM washers and shall confirms to AS 3566 class 3.

Sky lights and wall lights :- Standard skylights and wall lights come in Polycarbonate / FRP material with 1.5 mm in thickness and varying lengths as per requirements (Maximum length upto 6.5 m.) Skylights and wall lights will be supplied in profiles compatible with roof and wall metal profiles.

Mezzanine System

Prefabricated mezzanines are cost effective ways to create additional storage space in new or existing building. A standard mezzanine system consists of steel deck support by joists onto main mezzanine beams. All the material handling is done by crane systems in industrial buildings. Supported by crane runway beams these allow more efficient utilization of space by reducing traffic due to forklifts. With all these and many other readily available, efficient components PEBs are best for constructing warehouses, factory sheds, factory buildings, commercial centers, storage sheds, aircraft hangars or any institutional building in short time.

Insulation

These are panels made from high pressure injected polyurethane foam and are meant for insulating a building. They are CFC-free, self-extinguishing, can withstand intense heat, contain extreme low temperatures and offer very low rates of water absorption and vapor transmission. The panels also provide excellent adhesion to the panel’s sheeting.The insulation material generally used is glass - wool or Rock wool .This material is used wherein the customer requires to reduce the internal hot temperature where labourers are working . the material used is from 12 kg/ m3 to 24 kg/m3 and thickness of 50 mm with one side aluminium foil for vinyl cloth (WMPR).

Structural steel has traditionally been fabricated on-site, mainly due to lack of infrastructure for transporting heavy sections from an off-site workshop to a project site. Moreover, there is often insufficient space at a site to set up a fabrication workshop and skilled labor is available at a premium.
